Paul Sterling serves as Chief Technology Officer at Mold Inspection Sciences (MIS), where he brings together his passions for technology, creative communication, and education to help people better understand and improve their indoor environments.
As the co-creator of Moldware, the proprietary software platform that has powered MIS operations for more than two decades, Paul has played a central role in developing the technology behind the company's inspection, testing, reporting, and customer service processes. His work reflects a longstanding belief that thoughtfully designed technology can simplify complex challenges, empower people, and help deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Beyond technology, Paul plays a leading role in MIS's marketing initiatives, bringing a strong emphasis on creativity, education, and clear communication. He is particularly passionate about making complex scientific and environmental topics accessible to everyday audiences, helping homeowners and businesses better understand indoor air quality, moisture intrusion, mold, and other environmental concerns. A multiple-time Umbraco Most Valuable Person (MVP), Umbraco Certified Master Developer, and co-author of The Umbraco User's Guide, he has spent nearly two decades sharing knowledge and collaborating with developers around the world.
As a hands-on technology leader, Paul continues to explore the intersection of software development, digital marketing, and creative problem-solving. He enjoys finding practical ways to use technology to improve how businesses operate, communicate, and educate, while continually looking for new opportunities to connect people with meaningful information.
Outside of work, Paul enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest through running, hiking, cycling, kayaking, and sailing, along with a healthy appreciation for the region's famously rainy weather.

Co-created Moldware v1.0, the industry leading management software for IAQ companies, in 2005 . Involved in the technical aspect of delivering science-based mold, moisture, and other IAQ services to more than 75,000 clients.
Created and launched Moldware 2.0 in 2021 and Moldware Mobile in 2022 which are used daily by our teams to manage our process, collect data, communicate with our third-party laboratories and help to ensure data integrity at step in our process.
